In cooperation with Line 6 we are pleased to bring you replacement NECKS and BODIES for select Variax guitars.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer the electronic packages nor does Line 6 offer
electronics separately, you must buy a Variax guitar to obtain the electronics.

Necks

The 300 and 500 Variax guitars have neck pockets that are compatible with Fender necks, though the mounting screw locations are a little different. This means that most replacement necks will fit your Variax. This includes our short scale and baritone conversion necks. For those wishing to maintain the stock look of their Variax, we also offer the Variax peghead on our 13 degree Warmoth Pro construction necks. Don’t like your Variax neck? Change it! Swap it out for a neck that better fits your hands or one that better suits your playing style. The one caveat; please specify that the neck is to have no mounting holes so that it may be perfectly matched to your body.

This is a Strat® replacement body that has been modified to accept the 300 electronics. As you can see, the electronics are in a metal housing under the modified pickguard area. Since the pots and switch are circuit card mounted and their positions can not be altered, we have made a slightly modified Strat pickguard to accept them and still fit and look appropriate on this body. The battery box is on the back. The body edge radius is 3/16" (normally it would be 1/2") to allow the use of the stock side jack assembly. The 300 is intended for use with its accompanying hardtail bridge and is not suitable for tremolo conversions. Due to the location of the electronics, inclusion of conventional pickups is not possible. Our bodies come with all the necessary routing and wiring holes cut for easy installation of your electronics package.

500 Series Replacement Body
We offer both Strat® and Tele® shaped replacement bodies for the 500 electronics package. Because of the circuit card mounting of the controls, we can only offer the shown locations for them. The rear cavities are routed, drilled, and shielded for easy drop-in installation of your electronics. Tremolo adaptations are not recommended for both physical layout and electronic reasons. This body comes standard with the contoured heel joint for easy hand access to the upper frets. Please note that you will need new string ferrules for this conversion, our part number GSF1C ferrules fit correctly.

The body profile is typical Strat® though the edge radius is only available 3/16". This is because of the size of the output jack assembly. To order this replacement body please click through to our Strat® body section and simply state on the order form that your application is the Variax 500 guitar. Most the standard features are also available, including laminate tops. The price for this body is $100 over standard prices! Warning: There are Variax 500 instruments made with 22 fret necks that have NO fingerboard overhang at the body end of the neck. These Variax bodies and necks are not compatible with any Warmoth bodies or necks. The electronics and hardware are thought to still be the same for all Variax 500s and still compatible.
Variax FAQ's Q - Can Showcase bodies be modified for Variax use? A - Sorry, no. These bodies must be made from scratch. Q - Can I have the Variax mod on a hollow Strat® replacement body? A - Sorry, no. We have not engineered the hollow version for this. Q - Can I put regular pickups in my Variax body? A - You could put them in the Variax 500 Strat® and Tele® replacement bodies, however you will be responsible for drilling the pickup wiring holes. It is not possible to put pickups in the Variax 300 routed body. Q - Can I get mine with a tremolo? A - Sorry, no. The tremolo won't fit with the 500 electronics - look at the new 700 model if you want a tremolo. Q - Will you be offering other bodies for Variax modification? A - At this point we only plan to offer the Strat® and Tele® body shapes. Q - Do you offer replacement parts for the Variax bass or other Variax instruments? A - No, we have no current plans for this.
