Amazing versatility.
I bought these to replace the pickups that came with my Fender Squier P-bass hoping they would help a cheap bass sound better. They worked.
I own a normal Fender P-bass, and once these pickups were installed on the Squier, it was hard to tell them apart. It has a really lovely warm tone and puts out great sustain, and it is seamless all the way up and down my fretboard. No dead spots. It also sounds pretty decent recording direct to digital.
All in all a perfect pickup.

Quarter Pound P-Bass Pickup
In a word: AWESOME!!
I am a studio session bassist, so I need quiet pickups and electronics in my basses that work with many styles of music. This pickup with the Basslines 2-band preamp for passive pickups provides just that. I have this pickup installed in my Yamaha RBX460, along with a Basslines Quarter Pound J-pickup at the bridge position. This bass has been converted to fretless, and the QP P pickup has done well in catching the fretless nuances in the tone of this bass. I have just enough of the "mwah" fretless sound without it being overbearing. The fundamentals of the notes are solid. This is a great pickup, and it is rather easy to install yourself if you so choose to; the installation instructions are super easy to follow.
