Alex Hunter
My new guitar!!

Mahogany neck and body with a 5A Flame maple top in washed blue dye. It has a Kingwood Fingerboard and a Ebony overlay on the headstock. 1980's Floyd ROSE trem and PRS 57/08 pick ups. Elsworth Smith Jr
This is my third Warmoth project. The first two were Strat® style bodies, but this time I went with the VIP. The body is mahogany (transparent orange) with a flame maple top (tequila sunrise). The PU's are PRS Dragon II and the FR is recessed in the body. The PU wiring was customized by Rothstein Guitars (Woodbridge, NJ). The neck is mahogany (transparent orange) with an Indian rosewood (fatback) neck. The frets are the 6130 with abalone dots. I wanted to have a traditional look. The tuners are the Gotoh Keystone with a FR (R2) nut. The guitar was assembled by Third Coast Guitars (Chicago). This is the best overall Warmoth project I've done. The guitar sounds truly amazing. Hayden Kraff
My first build. Quilted maple top with tiger eye finish, mahogany back, birds eye maple 24 fret neck, JB, and Steve via pickups. She plays like a dream. Thanks Warmoth!!! Shane Wilcoxen
Behlen Tung oil finish,Mahogany body and neck, 24 3/4 conversion, rosewood fretboard, abalone fretmarkers, 14" flat radius, jumbo frets, Sperzel tuners, Alnico 2 pro neck and bridge. It turned out better than expected! It is the best sounding/playing guitar I own. Almost everything was purchased from Warmoth. I have already started a second guitar and hopefully #2 will turn out even better.

My first Warmoth that I built my senior year in High School. I was overall very pleased with everything and it was easy to put together. My only complaint was the frets were pretty uneven but I took it to a shop and they got it fixed just fine. It plays like a dream. Larry Aichler
Mahogany top and bottom, chambered, white korina neck with Brazilian rosewood fretboard and ebony peghead. Stainless steel frets and Burstbucker Pro's. Nice full sound, articulate, punchy, resonant Johnny Graham
Here is the VIP I ordered from Warmoth. I asked the guys at Krazy Kat Music in San Antonio who I should contact to build up my guitar. They were quick to send me to Tommy Shilts. I took him my black korina VIP with light tobacco burst finish, maple neck with satin vintage tint, stainless frets, Schaller mini tuners and Gotoh 510 bridge.I was anxious to get my hands on the guitar, but I soon learned that Tommy is a perfectionist and that perfection takes a little time! You can learn a little more about Tommy at http://www.myspace.com/sanantonioguitarguy Tommy fitted the Gibson humbuckers and electronics, trimmed and refinished the neck heel in order to get the right fit, and setup the action. The vintage finish goes on after the frets are installed, so the they took on the vintage tint, making them golden rather than chrome. I wanted all the hardware to be chrome, so Tommy finished the fret surfaces to remove some of the tint. I think the rest will rub off/fade with use. While I don't understand the issue with the neck heel, I am highly impressed with the overall quality of the Warmoth components especially the finish on the body. The guitar looks and sounds terrific. I look forward to doing another project soon I am thinking Flying V! Chris Gigliotti
This is my third custom guitar, but my first with Warmoth, and I'm very pleased. The body is a VIP with mahogany back with carved swamp ash top. The neck is maple/rosewood with jumbo stainless frets. Pickups are Dimarzio Tone Zone in bridge and Air Norton in neck positions. The bridge is a Wilkinson tremolo with Hipshot TremSetter for added stability. Tone and volume knobs are recessed via an ogee router bit. Top is finished with custom tinted dark cherry stain with 4 coats of tung oil on entire body.
The guitar resonates like the way an alder or ash Strat® does, but with much more thick lows and mids. Think PRS/Les Paul but with less highend bite, more sustain, and more character seems to breathe more to the tone. Josh Bodnar
I built this guitar with a VIP body and an ESP styled neck, two EMG 81 pickups and Sperzel tuners. It is built for playing metal music, painted with blue/purple dye with metal flake undercoat on the backside Mario Savard
Hi! One of the best looking guitars I have ever seen! Erling Stangeland
Building my own guitar has been a dream for many years, and this summer I thought it was about time to realize it. I searched the net for different sites that sold guitar parts, but initially went for Warmoth after a good friend of mine recommended them to me.

I found the body at Warmoth's showcase page and immediately fell in love with it! The body is all koa, hollowed, flamed top and candy brown back, with a Gotoh 510 bridge, SH1 Seymour Duncan '59 neck pickup and SH13 Dimebucker bridge pick up.

I also looked for a neck in the showcase page, but I wanted a scalloped neck and to get that Warmoth had to make one for me. And what a neck it is! The wood and craftmanship is absolutely amazing!
It is a warmoth pro neck with bubinga neck wood and pau ferro fingerboard and 22 frets. As mentioned earlier all frets are fully scalloped, frets are stainless steel ss 6115. For anyone getting a neck built, pay the extra 20$ for the stainless steel frets, I can nothing but recommend it. Bending and playing vibrato on these frets is nothing but a pure joy and they also improve sustain compared to the cheaper frets. The tuners are Schaller mini locking tuners, they keep well in tune and I really like the locking mechanism. I have another guitar with gotoh tuners that's got a similar locking system, but I've always thought it was a little bit tricky to use it, on these it is really simple.

The guitar took about 6 weeks to get here from the day of the order and UPS used about 4 days to get it from Warmoth to my house in Norway, which I think is within a reasonable time.
When I opened the package I new I had done the right thing. Everything was there and the body and neck looked and felt amazing! I sent a photo of the neck to that very friend of mine that recommended Warmoth to me, and he said that the neck looked so good that he immediately had to get undressed, whatever that implies.. hehe: Assembling the guitar was easier then I first thought, and since I have some experience with soldering I got the guitar up and running that same evening.

I think that Warmoth have done an absolutely fantastic job on the neck and body, and I can nothing but thank them for helping me out on this guitar project. I have two Ibanez guitars, one of them being a Jem 77bfp, and they are both good guitars, but I think this Warmoth guitar easily park them both. The tone, sustain, playability, look and feel of this guitar is amazing and to get something with a similar quality to this one would probably cost me 3 times as much, at least in this country. I can easily recommend everyone that wants to build a guitar to go Warmoth!

Thanks! Aubert Germain
Baryton 7 strings quilt maple top on koa with birdeyes maple and ebony neck with Rio Grande humbuckers Muy Grande and Tallboy Bob Broad
This is a Hollowed VIP Mahogany back and top with a pearloid binding. The neck is mahogany with oval inlays and pearl binding. I airbrushed the flames and finished the the guitar with Spar urethane. Seymour Duncan pearly Gates pickups with a wiring setup for 21 sounds series/parrallel, coil tapping, etc... The quality of the parts suplied by warmoth exceeded my expectations. I thought it was expensive for the body and neck at first, when I saw the body and neck I new it was all worth every penny. Thank you Warmoth.
I was very specific when I ordered, and they just blew me away, not only did they get everything right, it was better than I had hoped for. Andrew Foard
This is a mahogany body with flamed maple top, the neck is birds eye maple with a rosewood fingerboard. I put a Seymour Duncan TB4 in the bridge and an SH2 in the neck. This guitar is a tone monster, it really is more than I was expecting when I started this project. Thank you to everyone at Warmoth, I look forward to starting my next guitar. Scott B
Body: Flame maple top, Mahogany back.
Neck: Mahogany, ebony finger board, 1 3/4 at the nut.
The Pickups are: Duncan Jazz neck, Duncan JB bridge tapped with a push pull tone control.
10lbs total, this guitar sings and plays better than guitars I've paid over $3k for. It's my No. 1. Francisco A Del Valle
After receiving the neck I ordered I couldn't wait to get this thing together. I loved the feel of the neck, it is nice and slim, almost like my Jackson. The body here is inspired by a PRS or a VIP style body. The back is walnut and the top is quilted maple, both were 1" thick. The top was stained in a 3 step mode, black sand back then 2 different blues rubbed in with a damp rag to come up with the end result. I left a 1/8" natural binding from the quilt and added a 1/16" veneer from the same wood the body it to the neck. Electronics are handled by a single EMG 707 pick up with volume and tone, and there are plans for an EMG RPC control and a single toggle switch to use as volume kill for stutter sounds. The bridge is recessed into the body to compensate for the straight neck position (I don't like angled necks) and the output jack is frenched into the back of the body. Thanks for such nice products, I'm looking forward for my next build to order a neck from you guys.

Eric Meyer
PRS style body with a Seymour Duncan Vintage P90 pickup in the neck position and a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker pickup in the bridge position. 2 Volumes and a 3 way switch. Gotoh Tune-o-Matic Bridge and Tail Piece. Switchcraft Out Jack, CTS 500k pots. Sperzel Locking Tuners. It has a Swamp Ash body with a Mahogany Cap. Contoured neck heel and hollow chambers routed through out the body. Inca Silver Finsih. The Neck is Maple with Rosewood finger board and medium jumbo frets. It has a very thick back profile. I strink it up with GHS Boomer CL strings. Dunlop strap locks. The headstock was cut by me and my grandpa. Its sounds awesome 5000 to the max! and it plays sooooo fast! harmonics just fly off of it! Playing solos on it are pretty much effortless and chording is very comfortable. The tone is to die for. Its not muddy but its not overly bright either. Very nice rock axe. Thanks to Bill and everyone that put hardwork getting this axe to me! You guys are awesome.

Neil Sherak
his is my first Warmoth guitar. My brother had been playing one for a couple of years and I always liked his so I decided to take the plunge. It is a VIP body with hollow option. AAA flame maple top with amber stain and natural mahogany back. Birds eye maple neck with rosewood fret board and Warmoth shape headstock with sperzel locking tuners. Pickups are Gibson Burstbucker Pro and the bridge and tailpiece are Les Paul Style tune-o-matic from Warmoth. Electronics are simple - one tone, one volume, 3 way toggle switch. The neck is a satin finish.

My brother is a guitar technician so he did the entire assembly and wiring. This guitar plays, feels, sounds, and looks great. The neck is smooth and fast and the tone is warm and rich on rhythm and screams on lead. It definitely cuts through the mix. The finish on the guitar came out great and my overall experience with Warmoth has been first rate.

On a side note...I would like to comment on Warmoth in general. I have to be honest and say there was cosmetic issue with my guitar where Warmoth forgot to include one cosmetic feature. I understand, accidents and mistakes happen...no one is perfect. Now, I say this to Warmoth's credit based on their response to the issue. It is very easy to provide good service when everything is perfect. The true test of customer service is when something goes wrong - how does the company respond? In this regard Warmoth passed the test. Gregg, my sales rep, immediately said they would rebuild the entire body at no charge...however; he felt the finish came out very nice...so he wanted to give me the opportunity to decide for myself. He took several detailed pictures and emailed them to me so I could make up my own mind. Upon seeing the pics I decided I wanted to keep the guitar but I still felt I deserved some compensation for the oversight in my order. In this regard Gregg and Warmoth passed as well. They made good on the order in a manner I saw fit and everyone was happy. Now I have a gorgeous guitar for a great price.

Thanks Warmoth.

Juri Burlakov
Friendly speaking, I never have before so good guitar with warm sound.

I can play in different styles from jazz to rock ? and sound would be so deep and bright, warm and soft or powerful.

Like Ocean J

Its beautiful great guitar and I love it!

So, Thank you and Good luck!

Bruce Erikson
Mr. Warmoth,

Well all I can say is that I am utterly floored with my new VIP. I was really quite particular about the private stock PRS I had based my "wish" order upon. I am also certain that many times over this has come back to haunt you- when a customer has a real precious vision in mind. Trying to live up to that can be unattainable. You on the other hand, have delivered the goods!

Your craftmanship is truly remarkable and how this came together for me was just perfect. I hope I can build another one at some point with you. Thanks again for your openness, advice and willingness to help mw out- especially with that brazilian rosewood neck. It is just unbelievable.

I am sending some photos for you to pat yourself on the back.

My best,

Andreas Friedrich
Hallo!

Here the result of my first Warmoth project. Although I have already built or modified some guitars, I wanted now making a guitar which connects Les Paul's advantages with those of the another guitar. Replete sound, long sustain and the best handiness. So the choice fell on the VIP. Standard Warmoth neck, medium jumbo frets and hollow body, with cream binding. Flamed maple on mahogany, HH pickup style, emerald dye finishing on top, trans red back and neck. Gotoh Wilkinson tremolo All parts of Warmoth, unless the pickups. I use Rockinger PAF in the neck and bridge position (Thanks to Rockinger in Hannover). The wiring is a PRS modification with 5-way switch, 1 x volume and 1 x tone potentiometer. Both Push/Push for several sound variants. I must say thanks for the excellent work of Warmoth. It is much better than I ever thought. Top packed and without scratches by UPS arrived. A top processing of all parts. Assembling has made much fun. Except for small after-work on lacquered drillings everything matched perfectly. And the sound? Clear up to the heights, the basses not muddy and a gigantic sustain! The neck is processed toply and plays himself super softly. Well: again many thanks to the guys of Warmoth, having this one taken this project to the success also with clever questions.

July 2004 Rob Hoogkamer
This is actually my second guitar built by Peer Dellen, a great guitar-builder in The Hague, The Netherlands. You will find other guitars build by him out of Warmoth-parts in this gallery. Being a left handed player gives limited choices in the sense of the perfect guitar. But luckily I ran into Peer and he showed me what he could do with Warmoth parts. Also for this guitar he has used Warmoth parts and I chose Warmoth because of the experience I had with my first guitar. However, I wanted to have more body in my sound, more low while still maintaining the high bite of a typical Strat. But I loved the neck I had on my first guitar and the EMG pickups and Wilkinson trem, so all that had to come back. In the meanwhile I fell in love with the PRS bodyshape used for their Custom series. So, I discussed all that with Peer and we came to the following shopping list: a Warmoth VIP2 mahogany body and a Warmoth flame maple neck with the same specs as on my first guitar. And since I wanted to have also something that would look very nice I decided to have a flame maple top for the body with an Amber dye. Also, to have low string tension, I wanted a short scale neck and for that also a short scale body is needed. Imagine the special list of wishes here: lefthanded, short scale, the combination of woods and so on. The first thing to do was to check with Warmoth if they could fullfill all my wishes and they could ! So the parts were ordered and after the final touch at the factory, shipped to The Netherlands. I myself live in New York so I had to synchronize the delivery of the parts with a trip to The Netherlands with my old guitar so that Peer could transfer all the hardware to the new guitar. So that happened in October 2002. Peer made all the necessary holes for pots, switches and so on and transferred the hardware and adjusted everything. To make it even more complicated I also have a Roland synth pickup and electronics build into the guitar that needed extra holes and precise adjustments. But in the end that all worked out perfect. It was somewhat of a guess up front on how the new guitar would sound with the combination of new woods and old electronics but when I plugged it in and started to play I knew it was absolutely perfect. A lot of low, so more body in the sound, and yet still that high bite that I like for that funky music. And the guitar really plays like 'butter', smooth with a lot of souplesse. One happy customer here thanks to Peer and Warmoth ! I should name my guitar PeeRS. Keep up the good work.
Chris Entus
This is my first Warmoth project........with more to come!!! Its a solid walnut body with carved walnut top VIP. The neck is mahogany and Brazilian rosewood. Both the neck and the body have 50 micro think coats of laquer. The neck has an awesome feel. Everything came from warmoth...even the screws. This guitar sounds and feels great. If your gunna build a guitar.......and I recommend it........then go Warmoth!!! Thanks to the warmoth crew and especially Gregg for putting up with my persistence.........you guys are the best.

Ciampoli
Heres my custom V.I.P 7 string Baritone Hardtail! Clear Mahogony chambered body with a trans purple flamed maple top, maple neck with an ebony fret board. Photos show blaze pickups which did not work well with the chambered body, swaped them for duncan custom neck and a JB in the bridge which worked perfect for the set up! All the hardwear is Warmoth, 5 way mega switch and Gibson pots. This guitar is a metal grinder! Extremly versital and a pleasure to play! Highly recomended quality with Warmoth parts!
John Metzger
This is my third Warmoth project and it came together perfectly. The brown dyed flame maple top/transparent brown mahogany back is paired with a Warmoth fatback neck with ebony fretboard. I ordered the fretboard with no inlays and had Mosby Guitars inlay DNA strand designs in MOP/green abalone and my initials on the 12th fret in MOP. Jeff Mosby also created a custom truss rod cover to match the design of the Warmoth headstock. The pickups are Lindy Fralin humbuckers with gold covers to match the gold hardware/bridge. Like my other Warmoths this guitar looks and plays great. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to my next project.

Jon Nelson
This is a VIP body you guy's built for me.It's AAAAA quilted maple top with swampash back, finished in a fantastic Tigerseye top and trans-brown back.Neck is quarter-sawn flame maple with beautiful Brazilian rose fret board with Stainless Steel frets and Abolone fret markers. The hardware is all gold with the back covers and truss-rod cover fabricated from brass.Pickups are Tom Andersons.Your workmanship is without compare. This instrument plays and sounds remarkable. From this point on i will built all of my guitars with your products!

Barrie Poole
Welp! This is my Warmoth VIP2! It consists of an Alder Body with AAA Quilted Maple Top Dyed Purple with Transparent Purple back with Schaller Floyd Bridge. The handle is a AAA Birdseye Maple neck with a Rosewood fretboard (with grain so straight, there's no chance of warpage) The electronics I decide to use DiMarzio Pickups and electronics "DiMarzio "PAF Pro" and "FRED" Pickups" (the same ones Joe Satriani uses and wired the same as well) and I had an amazing time building this guitar! It went together so easily I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner! It was rather heavy on the wallet but I couldn't buy a guitar that looked like this for the same amount of money! We won't mention their name! Great Value! Great Guitar! And It Screams!

February 2002 Bob Collins
All Warmoth parts except the PickUps. PRS 10s won as a prize by answering the right question Paul asked during one PRS Forum Event at the factory in 2002. TRC is Zebrawood with family crest. Back cavity covers are Brazilian Rosewood. Top is AAA Koa with a Koa back hollowed. Clear automotive lacquer front and back, about 15 coats with rubbing between coats. Neck is rosewood with the headstock finished in clear coat. Ebony fretboard with SS frets. Inlays are green ablone. This was named Angel One in honor of the money behind this project fronted by my Wife for my birthday in March. It was a project of love on both sides.
Dr. Scott A. Beal
The photograph is not great, but the guitar is. I ordered a custom VIP II hollow body with AAAAA quilted maple top and black korina back. I then applied 10 coats of pure tung oil to maintain the wood's natural tonal properties. After assembly, I had a luthier level the frets and adjust the intonation and bridge. The neck fit perfectly. The action and intonation are absolutely perfect! Playability brings tears of joy to my eyes. I have owned many production and so-called "hand made" guitars. This guitar is by far the best of them all, for less than 1/3 the price of my expensive and now dust-covered others. In addition, I have the pure joy of playing something I had a hand in creating. Thank you Warmoth. Your products and service are way above the rest.

Thomas
I bought this, my first VIP Warmoth guitar in May 2001. It is a palisander rosewood , with boat neck, with mop stars, graphite nut, with quilted maple cap. grover tuners, 20 year old pafs. The body is 5A quilted body in natural with ribbon mahogany back. Features gold hardware and hollowbody. It is lightweight and sings like a bird. You did it right, and my next guitar from Warmoth is in the planning stage. Thank you Warmoth.

Henry Diaz
This is my custom VIP II guitar. It has a dark red dyed top, and a black back finish. The tremolo is a Wilkinson, the pickups are a DiMarzio PAF Pro II in the bridge position, and a DiMarzio Virtual PAF at the neck position. Believe it or not, there are 2 volume controls which are push/pull so I am able to obtain a various amount of fat and soft, smooth sounds. The body is a great hollow body, and the neck is nice, thin and comfortable for my hand to play, and I love the matching veneered head stock. I have not been able to put this guitar down once I got it home from my friend's repair shop. I won't mention other names that would look like this guitar, but I will say I love the feel and playability of the guitar much better. I have been thinking about creating another similar to this one, but I will have to wait for awhile. The next project would be the same body and almost the same setup, but I would love a cream binding and a solid black finish. In time, that will happen. But for now, I will be playing this one all the time. Thanks goes to my friend Jeff Bloch at the Amp and Guitar Wellness Center for assembling the guitar for me, as well as the fine customer service reps at Warmoth who offered me very good suggestions and were so patient with me. It was a pleasure doing business with you and I look forward to doing it again in the near future.

Brian Labbie
I just wanted to say thank you for the great work. It was much better than I could ever have imagined. I have a couple of other "high quality" guitars and this one beats them hands down. I recommend your company to everyone. I get all kinds of great comments about it. Keep up the good work. Hopefully I can get to play it again soon, I am in the Army and don't have much time because of recent events. I attached a picture just to give you an idea of how it came out. Thanks again everyone, Great Job!

J.S. Bargiel
The body is black korina and the neck is ebony on white korina, both picked in the showcase, unfinished. It is equipped with a Wilkinson tremolo and Sperzel tuners, SS6105 frets and a graphite nut.
The body and neck were received dustfree, fit perfectly and were nearly ready for finishing. I used mat polyurethane. Tonally, the guitar has a very nice and warm tone with shiny mids. I added a bit of twang to it with a coilsplit switch.
Many thanks to Dan and Gregg from Warmoth, who took care of my order. Both were very professional and provided good advice.

Warmoth guitar parts are excellent and, above all, unique. In fact, very few manufacturers can compete with that. I’m glad I sold my old guitar to fund this project. I’m already screening the showcase for my next one.
