The classic hot rodded do it all pickup - almost
The JB was first Duncan I ever tried, 20 year ago and I've been a fan ever since. This is a great pickup for nearly all styles of music, but I think it excels for heavy rock and metal. In my all mahogany guitar I didn't care for it that much, but in my basswood guitar with maple neck it sounded amazing. I've heard people say it's great with maple guitars. I would think any balanced or bright guitar would be perfect with a JB. The JB picks up harmonics and squeals very easily and have a great singing lead tone. It will cut through in a band situation very well. There's a reason it's the best selling pick up. I love the JB but I'm giving it a 4 because it didn't work as well as I hoped it would in my LP. Also sounds cool with A8 and A2 magnets.
